I look forward to reading her blog everyday, she has faced quite a few challenges lately but still remains an uplifting and postiive person. Thanks so much Jocelyn, this means a lot to me!! Here is how it works....
*Say thank you and give a link to the presenter of the award
*Share “10 Honest Things” about myself
*Present the award to 9 other bloggers whose blogs I find brilliant in content and/or design or to those who have encouraged me
*Be sure to tell the 9 bloggers chosen that you are giving them the Honest Scrap award and provide the guidelines for them
So here goes, 10 honest things about me...
1. Since I was a young girl, I have wanted a large family.
Mike and I originally planned to have 6 children! Yikes.
I still don't feel that our family is "complete" and if God
blesses us with another child I would be thrilled.
(although Mike says "No More!")
2. I love to bake.
My specialty is caramel apple pie.
I hate to toot my own horn but I've never
tasted another that compares!!
3. I am obsessive-compulsively clean.
(physically at least...my house could use some work!)
I have been known to take 2-3 baths a day.
4. I need to shave my legs and my toenail polish is chipped.
5. I am anal about spelling errors.
Maybe I should have been a teacher?
6. I am the oldest of 3 girls.
Being a "mother hen" just comes naturally to me.
We are spaced several years apart but remain very close.
(I am 28, Raven is 23 and Natalie is 17)
7. I still color in coloring books.
I even have my own box of 96 count Crayolas
and the kids aren't allowed to touch them!
8. I am scared of snakes.
While we were in Oklahoma for the World Series
Would you believe a snake got in my house?!?
She was a bit freaked out.
After I found this out I told Mike I wanted to move. LOL
9. I LOVE to read.
I have been a bookworm since a very young age.
If I don't have a book to read then something just doesn't feel right.
I am so happy that I have instilled the love
of books and reading into my children as well.
10. I was scared to tell you 10 honest things about me
at first! It took me a while to figure out what to say!
So, the moment of truth...
I am passing this award along to:
Yesterday, my youngest little guy, Roman, turned 4.
It is so hard to believe!
Here he was just hours old.
This was him at school during his "Celebration of Life"
At Montessori school they celebrate each child's birthday like this:
"Birthdays are a time to focus on the birthday child’s special day, emphasizing his or her growth since birth. We celebrate birthdays in our classrooms in the following ways:
We dramatize the passage of time since birth by having the birthday child carry the earth’s globe around a candle, representing the sun, one time for each year of your child’s life.
We read special events in the life of the birthday child, as supplied by the parent for the teacher to read or told directly by the parent if they are available to come to class on that day.
We invite the birthday child to bring one photo for each year of life. Your child will be asked to talk or write about each photo. "
